Laundry Service

Track and manage guest laundry orders

Stats Overview

Four summary cards at the top provide a real-time snapshot of laundry operations.

Active Orders

The count of laundry orders currently being processed — this includes orders in any stage from 'Collected' through 'Ironing'. A high number indicates heavy laundry volume and may require additional staff allocation.

Ready for Pickup

Orders that have completed all processing stages and are waiting for delivery to the guest's room or guest collection. Prioritize delivering these promptly to maintain guest satisfaction.

Delivered Today

The number of laundry orders successfully delivered to guests today. This helps you track daily throughput and ensures your team is meeting service level commitments.

Total Revenue

The sum of charges from all laundry orders. This gives you a quick view of revenue generated by the laundry service, which can be compared against operational costs for profitability analysis.

Status Workflow

Each laundry order progresses through 6 sequential stages. Staff advance orders to the next stage as work is completed, providing full visibility into where every order stands.

Collected

The initial stage when laundry items have been picked up from the guest's room. At this point, items should be sorted, counted, and verified against the order slip before proceeding.

Washing

Items are currently being washed. The appropriate wash cycle is selected based on the service type (standard, express, or dry clean) and garment care labels.

Drying

Washing is complete and items are being dried. Delicate items may require air drying while standard items go through machine drying.

Ironing

Items are dried and being pressed or ironed according to garment type. This is typically the final processing step before packaging.

Ready

All processing is complete. Items are folded, packaged, and ready for delivery to the guest's room. Staff should deliver these as soon as possible, especially for express orders.

Delivered

The order has been returned to the guest. This is the terminal stage. The delivery time is recorded for service quality tracking.

Service Types

Three service tiers are available, each with different processing times and pricing to accommodate varying guest needs.

Standard

The default service tier with normal processing turnaround (typically 24 hours). Priced at the base rate. Suitable for guests with no time constraints on their laundry.

Express

Expedited processing with a faster turnaround (typically same-day or within a few hours). Priced at a premium above the standard rate. Offer this to guests who need items returned quickly for events or early departures.

Dry Clean

Specialized cleaning for delicate garments, suits, formal wear, and items with 'dry clean only' labels. Uses chemical solvents instead of water. Higher pricing reflects the specialized process. Turnaround may be longer due to the nature of the cleaning process.

Order Management Table

The main table lists all laundry orders with sortable columns, status tracking, and action buttons for each order.

Order Number

A unique identifier for each laundry order (e.g. LDR-001). Use this number to reference specific orders when communicating with guests or between departments.

Guest & Room

Displays the guest's name along with their room number. This allows laundry staff to identify whose items they are processing and where to deliver the finished order.

Items Count

The total number of individual garments or items in the order. A high item count may require more processing time, which should be factored into estimated delivery times.

Service Type Badge

A colored badge indicating whether the order is Standard, Express, or Dry Clean. Express orders are visually highlighted so staff can prioritize them appropriately.

Amount

The total charge for the order in Indian Rupees (₹). This is calculated based on the service type, number of items, and individual item pricing.

Status Badge

A color-coded badge showing the current workflow stage (Collected, Washing, Drying, Ironing, Ready, or Delivered). The color changes at each stage for easy visual scanning.

Estimated Delivery

The date and time by which the order should be returned to the guest. This is calculated based on the service type and when the order was collected. Overdue orders should be escalated immediately.

View Button

Opens a detail modal with complete order information including the itemized list of garments, pricing breakdown, and any special instructions from the guest.

Advance Status Button

Moves the order to the next workflow stage. The button label shows the upcoming stage (e.g. 'Move to Washing'). Click this as your team completes each processing step to keep the status accurate.

Order Detail Modal

Clicking 'View' on any order opens a comprehensive detail modal with all order information.

Guest & Room Info

The top section shows the guest's full name and room number, making it easy to confirm whose order you are viewing and where it needs to be delivered.

Service Type & Status

Displays the selected service tier and current workflow stage. This confirms the processing priority and where the order stands in the pipeline.

Itemized List

A detailed breakdown of every item in the order, showing the item name, quantity, and individual price (e.g. 'Shirt x 3 = ₹450'). This allows staff to verify all items are accounted for and helps resolve any disputes about charges.

Total & Notes

The order total and any special notes or instructions from the guest (e.g. 'Please use gentle cycle for silk blouse', 'Stain on collar needs attention'). Always check notes before processing to avoid damage claims.

Search & Filter

Use search and filter controls to quickly locate specific orders in the system.

Text Search

Search by guest name, room number, or order number. Results filter in real time as you type. Useful when a guest calls to check on their laundry — just type their name or room number.

Status Filter

Filter by workflow stage to see only orders at a specific point in the process. For example, filter by 'Ready' to see all orders waiting for delivery, or 'Washing' to check the current wash load.
